PC Banking
Internet banking (or PC banking) offers many of the same benefits of "brick and mortar" bank; you can transfer funds between accounts, balance your checkbook, pay your bills and more. While major banks will offer many of the services as their store front equivalents, smaller banks may only offer limited services. As to whether internet banking is for you, here are some pros and cons to consider. Pros: convenience (available 24/7), ubiquity (available wherever there's online access), efficiency (manage all your accounts from one site) and effectiveness (many tools such as stock quotes, rate alerts, etc.) Cons: setting up the account (requires paperwork at an actual bank), learning curve (takes time to learn the system), trust (did my transaction go through?) and security (can a hacker access my information?). Many would agree the pros outweigh the pros, but ultimately the decision is yours. |
